MGM Resorts International’s Fallen Oak played host to the second annual Veteran Golfers Association (VGA) Championship, Oct. 16-19 in Biloxi, Miss. and crowned 15 new VGA flight champions on the Tom Fazio-designed championship course ordinarily reserved exclusively for guests of Beau Rivage Resort & Casino.

The Veteran Golfers Association (VGA) seeks to follow up on the success of last year’s inaugural championship when 80 of the country’s top military veteran golfers tee it up at the Second Annual 2016 VGA National Championship, Oct. 16-19 in Biloxi, Miss. This year’s tournament is hosted at Fallen Oak, the Tom Fazio-designed championship course ordinarily reserved exclusively for guests of MGM Resort International’s renowned Beau Rivage Resort & Casino.

Miguel Angel Jimenez Takes Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic Trophy at Fallen Oak

Fallen Oak hosted the seventh annual Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic Presented by C Spire on April 1-3 with Miguel Angel Jimenez taking home the trophy and $240,000.  The Tom Fazio-designed course hosted some of the greatest golfers in the world during the event, including 26 of the Top 30 on the current Charles Schwab Cup Money List, but it was “the most interesting man in golf” who took home his third PGA TOUR Champions title after he shot 8-under 64.  Jimenez’s bogey-free, final-round 8-under-par 64 was the lowest final round in tournament history.
